Markus Jerger elected New President of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME

Brussels, 27 June 2023 - During the Annual General Assembly of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME, Mr. Markus Jerger, Executive Chairman of Der Mittelstand.BVMW (D), has been elected unanimously as new President of our confederation, succeeding to Prof. Maurizio Casasco, which resigned to make this succession possible, since he was elected in Sept. 2022 Member of the Italian Parliament. Mr. Casasco was elected Honorary President and will stay Member of the Board as delegate of Confapi (I).

Mr. Jerger became in fall 2021 Executive Chairman of Der Mittelstand.BVMW, leading since then this big German SME Association, representing over 960.000 companies in Germany alone. He already managed the same association as CEO from 2017 to 2021.

During the following Board meeting, Mr. Jorge Portugal, General Manager of COTEC Portugal, was elected unanimously First Vice-President of the Board.
